Introductory Neurofeedback Training Practicum: November 2026 – In-Person

Price range: AUD$1,750.00 through AUD$2,250.00 + GST

Dr Perl’s classic course has a new convenient format.

Part 1 is our online didactic course. We call it the Neurofeedback Primer. It is essential learning for practitioners new to the field of neurofeedback. It is also very helpful for neurofeedback practitioners who want to review and refresh their understanding of neurofeedback. It covers the background and theory of Neurofeedback and EEG. It is delivered as a series of online video lectures which you can watch at your own pace. Click here to read more and sign up for Part 1 if you haven’t already completed a didactic course in neurofeedback, or want to refresh your understanding.

Part 2 covers the practical side (how to use equipment) and is provided in our 2-day practicum. Additionally four online group mentoring sessions are available to support you as you begin working with neurofeedback.  They will cover both the technical and clinical aspects of doing neurofeedback that arise in the group.

Together these two parts are your launch point into a career in neurofeedback – they provide the necessary basic skills and understanding to use neurofeedback equipment in a professional setting, applying eyes open neurofeedback protocols. They satisfy the EEG Education and Research (EEGer) requirements for certification as a Neurofeedback Practitioner.  They also satisfy BCIA’s 36-hour Blueprint of Knowledge required for certification as a neurofeedback practitioner, and help you begin to fulfill the BCIA practical requirements for certification.

If you are NOT a mental health or healthcare practitioner and are interested in taking this course, please contact us before signing up.

Description

Practicum and group mentoring details

Note: For information and sign up for the online didactic course please go to our  Online didactic course.

Attendees will have access to an EEGer neurofeedback system for the two days of this course. We recommend bringing your own PC laptops so we can load EEGer onto them.  You will be able to use them during the practicum and be ready to continue doing neurofeedback on your own machine once you go back home.  Once back home, you have three options for continuing your use of the EEGer software:

  1. Three or six month software rental, with purchase of amplifier and consumables;
  2. Purchase a new EEGer system; outright or on a payment plan, or
  3. Use colleague’s/employer’s EEGer system.

Please contact us for further details on any of these plans.

The goal of our trainings is to produce competent neurofeedback practitioners. Such practitioners are able to integrate their understanding of symptom presentation, brain function and EEG into a coherent neurofeedback treatment strategy, and then monitor and adjust that strategy throughout treatment.

This BCIA-approved training is the first step in that process. It will give clinicians the necessary basic skills and understanding to use neurofeedback equipment in a professional setting, applying eyes open neurofeedback protocols. Additionally attendees will get to tap into Dr Perl’s extensive clinical and theoretic knowledge of neurofeedback.

This course will give you a thorough grounding in this field and prepare you for successful clinical implementation of neurofeedback as a treatment modality and/or for research in this field. This course is very practical, experiential and “hands-on”. Basic neuro-physiology is presented to allow participants to understand the neurofeedback process and reasoning for protocol decisions. The class size is capped which permits catering for individual needs.

This course is BCIA and by extension BCIA Australia (BCIA-A) certified for 36 hours of training in the Blueprint of Knowledge portion for certification in neurofeedback. Dr Perl is a certified instructor and supervisor by BCIA. The course fee includes registration of your attendance with BCIA.

This course has been taught for over 25 years and has regularly been revised and expanded to incorporate developments in the field.
